Job Title : Teacher AssistantLocation : New York, NY 10010Employment Type : Full-Time (Monday to Friday)Salary : $40,000 to $45,000 This is a pooled requisition for the 2025-2026 school year. If selected, your tentative start date will be July 2025. Rebecca School is an independent, private therapeutic day school for children ages 3 to 21, promoting the education and development of children with neurodevelopmental delays of relating and communicating, including autism spectrum disorders. Rebecca school was founded in 2006 and utilizes the DIRFloortime model (Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship-based) developed by Stanley Greenspan, M.D.

Your Role as a Teacher Assistant Classroom & Instructional Support - Assist the teacher in preparing and implementing lesson plans, providing direct instruction aligned with students' treatment goals. Student Engagement & Development - Support students' growth across academic, social-emotional, and physical domains through individualized and structured activities. Supervision & Meetings - Participate in classroom meetings, team discussions, child review sessions, staff training, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Classroom Organization & Maintenance - Maintain a structured, accessible, and safe learning environment by organizing materials and ensuring a balance of engaging and appropriate activities. Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to foster a supportive learning environment, ensuring positive and professional communication at all times. Student Transitions & Support - Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and activities, including field trips, bussing, and building-wide coverage as needed. Daily Living Support - Provide assistance with toileting, diapering, and other self-care needs to promote student independence and well-being.
