Summary : A Therapist I provides therapy services to a variety of agency clients. Works cooperatively with other community agencies and resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements :
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Minimum requirements include an MSW or a Master's degree in related counseling program. Proficient in communication; systemic, structural, behavioral, diagnostic and treatment skills. Good working knowledge of community resources.
Licensure Requirements : Pursuit of attaining Illinois licensure required. Must obtain LPC or LSW license within 18 months of hire. Failure to obtain LPC or LSW within 18 months may result in termination of employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write case notes that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to set and maintain clinical scheduling in accordance with productivity standards.
COMPUTER SKILLS :
Strong computer proficiencies are essential; must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
