Job Description – Associate Civil Engineer
Location : Orange County, CA

Compensation : $80,000 – $100,000 annually

Role Overview
The firm is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, and designers. This role performs civil engineering work under the direct supervision of a Project Manager and supports projects from early design through construction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general civil engineering design and technical support under the supervision of a Project Manager
Support engineering studies, site investigations, and technical reports
Assist with land development and site engineering design
Prepare Basis of Design (BOD) documentation
Support preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)
Assist with cost estimates and construction support services
Coordinate with internal teams, agencies, and external stakeholders
Technical Scope Includes
Site engineering design for buildings and parking areas
Street improvement and roadway design
Pavement rehabilitation
Rough and precise grading plans
Stormwater design and drainage calculations
Potable and reclaimed waterline design
Sewer pipeline design
Flood control improvements
Freeway and interchange improvements
Specifications development
Utility coordination
Permit processing
Qualifications
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Working knowledge of public works and federal agency processes preferred
Strong proficiency in MicroStation InRoads (required)
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam preferred
Ability to prepare engineering reports with guidance from senior staff
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (required)
Minimum of 5 years of professional civil engineering experience (required)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in California preferred
Experience working with federal agencies (e.g., DoD, Navy) is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
