Duties:
- Provide care and support to individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions as directed by the treatment team
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and individual progress
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or related developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner
- First aid and CPR certification is required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for transporting individuals to appointments or community outings
- Ability to lift heavy objects or assist with transfers as needed
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- case types vary- 1:1 care & supplemental staffing. Don’t have to do both, but need to confirm preference.candidates the following expectations:- position is on call, hours aren’t guaranteed/ will vary & based on availability, flexibility and willingness to accept shifts with & without notice- need to travel 15-25 miles from home- flexibility to switch to a different case at the last minute as clients’ need changes
For candidates:
- willingness to learn & coachable- 6 month + of verifiable professional experience is a plus- non-certified acceptable- personal caregiving experience acceptable- must be friendly, polite and nice
