Equipment Operator 4 (Construction)

What we need :

We are seeking energetic passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Equipment Operator 4 within the Division of Parks and Watercraft headquartered at West Branch State Park Construction assigned to Portage county. Please note this position requires a Class A Commercial Drivers License with no restrictions. Please note this is a travel position. You will be traveling to different parks due to current park needs for construction & repairs.

What you will do

• Will operate a variety of heavy construction equipment to complete construction and maintenance projects within ODNR.
• Performs routine maintenance & repairs on equipment & buildings / ground maintenance
• Maintains & completes accurate & concise maintenance records project logs & reports
• Position requires a Class A CDL with no restrictions
• Overnight travel required at least 50% of your work week within the state of Ohio
• Starting hourly pay of $22.60 / hr with multiple pay increases over your first 4.5 years of service with an end salary of $25.77 / hr

Formal education in arithmetic to include fractions decimals & percentages & to read write & speak common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. operation of heavy construction equipment (e.g. 10 ton crawler large cranes 10 ton backhoe 18 ton dozer over 44000 pound gradall truck mounted excavator) & related safety practices; valid commercial drivers license; in addition for positions in Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry Wildfire Program only must successfully complete Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S-130 / S-190).
