The Office of the Chancellor of the California State University System (CSU), the largest, most diverse, and most consequential university system in the United States, seeks a highly skilled and experienced leader to serve as the inaugural Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success (VC-SEMSS) . The successful candidate will be instrumental in further defining the newly formed Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success division as the CSU continues its structural evolution in support of the students and communities it serves. This role will work in close partnership with the recently appointed Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairsto ensure the CSU continues to achieve its goals of providing an accessible, affordable, and impactful education to the citizens of California and the nation.

The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success

The newly created Division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success (SEMSS) will support the CSU's enrollment management and student success professionals across the System's 22 universities to ensure a transformational educational experience for all students. SEMSS is committed to leading the CSU System's efforts to attract highly motivated students to its campuses and supporting them through their academic journey. By working with its campus partners, SEMSS will help CSU universities offer students opportunities to achieve their educational and ultimate career goals.

About the Position

Reporting to the Chancellor of the CSU System and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success will provide senior leadership, vision, and strategic oversight for a broad portfolio of departments and initiatives. The new VC-SEMSS will ensure that systemwide enrollment, student success, and equity priorities are advanced across CSU's 22 campuses, while serving as a trusted advisor to the Chancellor, and working in collaboration with the Chancellor's Executive Leadership Team.

The Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success will join the CSU at a crucial moment in its history. The VC-SEMSS will have the tremendous opportunity to help shape the vision and direction of the CSU System's strategic enrollment management and student success culture and landscape. To build a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement in service of the CSU's student populations the VC-SEMSS must have the ability to set priorities, determine a plan to achieve them, and communicate effectively with multiple constituencies across the CSU System to implement them.
