JOB SUMMARY

As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will review aerospace and commercial documents / parts that are fabricated and processed by Skills Inc. for compliance to engineering specifications, AS9100, NADCAP, and company quality system requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Validate and correct performance monitoring data.
  • Interpret data, analyze results, and provide detailed reports for reporting and communications needs.
  • Create First Article Inspection Reports for entry into Net-Inspect
  • Identify opportunities through data analysis for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Use methodical and systemic analytical approaches to perform effective Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA).
  • Develop, document, and deliver end-user training on changes and enhancements to process improvements.
  • Track and report status of Corrective Actions and quality performance data.
  • Assess quality performance trends and lead corrective action efforts.
  • Participate in and contribute towards process improvement initiatives and goals.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Comply with all federal, state, company and customer requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with concrete and abstract variables.
  • Experience with the manufacture, fabrication, assembly, application of protective finishes, and inspection of structural aerospace products.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality engineering theories, principles, inspection techniques, tools and equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of aerospace and commercial drawings, blueprints, parts lists and associated documents.
  • Advanced computer literacy in a Windows environment including proficiency with MS Office.
  • Excellent at technical writing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues to others and to work cooperatively with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and operational functions.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, communicate and / or follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through a minimum of five (5) years direct experience or three (3) years of related experience and 2-year technical degree.

    SALARY DESCRIPTION

    Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Skills Inc. is a self-supporting Social Enterprise and is organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit. We have three lines of business : Aerospace Manufacturing, Aerospace Finishing, and Business Solutions, that operate in 2 locations. Skills Inc. employs over 250 people and our social mission is to train, employ and serve persons with disabilities. We accomplish our mission three ways; direct hire, vocational programs and services, and as a resource to the community.

    Salary Range : $27.00-$37.00
