Description
As a Valuations and Modeling Director youll assist clients by leading teams that apply traditional and cutting-edge valuation approaches and methods to a variety of analyses all with the resources environment and support to help you excel. While also utilizing discounted cash flow models trading and acquisition multiples use of derivatives binomial and Monte Carlo simulation models to value businesses assets liabilities and financial instruments such as equity debt and derivatives.

Your day-to-day may include :
- Supervise and oversee all aspects of Valuation engagements throughout the transaction process and coordinate the work performed by multiple service lines
- Serve as the day-to-day point person on engagements lead meetings and calls with clients and target management
- Plan execute direct and complete valuations for financial and corporate strategic buyers from a variety of industries including manufacturing and distribution non-profit high-tech real estate and financial services
- Understand and manage firm risk on projects and proposals
- Oversee and apply business valuation approaches and methods to a variety of tangible and non-tangible assets including equity valuations option analyses and purchase allocations
- Oversee the assembly maintenance and finalization of working papers that support valuations
- Manage client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services
- Manage business development activities such as proposals account teams whitepapers conferences and / or other thought leadership material
- Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues
- Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence
- Lead and support business development activities such as identification proposal development and other pursuit activities at clients
- Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work
- Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization)
- Manage develop train coach and mentor staff on projects assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
- Interview campus and / or experienced candidates
- Other duties as assigned
You have the following technical skills and qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or related discipline requiredMinimum 10 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross industry clients at a national level with experience in business valuation requiredABV ASA CFA CPA CVA MAI or related license / certification requiredExperience in Accounting Audit or Transaction Advisory ServicesCurrent knowledge in US GAAP GAAS SEC Reporting transaction advisory services or mergers and acquisitionsPurchase price allocation and intangible asset valuation experienceTechnical background including fair value experienceAbility to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practiceDemonstrated leadership business development recruitment trainingand mentoring experienceCan travel as needed. Expected travel is up to 5% per yearThe base salary range for this position in Los Angeles only is between $198700 and $298100.
