Job Description
MISSION :
Plans and directs development / production engineering programs and projects concerned with unique and diverse problems which have an important effect on extensive engineering, business and product activities. Has full technical and financial responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments. Makes recommendations and decisions that have an important impact on engineering programs as well as the business of the company. These objectives are achieved in part interacting with Operational Managers within the plant.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :
1. Responsible for an important segment of the part engineering of support activity programs for the plant. The engineering programs contain critical problems, the solution of which requires technological advances and open ways for extensive related development. 2. Plans, recommends, and / or negotiates for facilities, personnel, support organizations, and funds required to carry out programs directly related with and directed towards fulfillment of plant business objectives. 3. Prepares, reviews, monitors and control budgets. Is responsible for allocation of the program budgets among organizations to most effectively address program requirements. 4. Works closely with manufacturing to provide engineering support for the transition of products from development to production. 5. Directs and / or has responsibility for hiring, training, performance evaluation, salary changes, promotions, disciplinary action, and transfers of personnel for the organization within established guidelines and company policy. 6. Holds direct reports accountable for performance of their safety responsibilities. Supports company safety and health policies and includes consideration of safety requirements into the budgeting process. 7. Works closely with the Plant's customers to help design new products, communicate problems, and provide a technical arm to support sales in our relationship with customers in achieving our goals.
QUALIFICATIONS : 1. Must have aerospace experience or experience within Investment Casting. Also, directing / supervising engineers to achieve the goals of profit, quality, and delivery. 2. Candidate should have a B.S. degree in an engineering field or equivalent. 3. Candidate should have a good track record in delivering new ideas, managing projects with financial responsibility and provide leadership in directing engineers and others in finishing projects on time.
