Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Youth Care Professional for our Group Home!

Nexus-Family Healing at Onarga is located approximately 30 miles south of Kankakee and 45 miles north of Champaign-Urbana, just a few miles off of I-57 on a historic site in Onarga, IL. Nexus Family Healing provides boys ages 10 to 20 years old a structured, homelike environment where they can safely address a variety of unhealthy behaviors and mental health issues as well as childhood trauma.

Work Schedule & Salary :

• Salary starts at $20.40-$22.00 per hour based on YCP level, education & prior experience in the human services field
• Evening Shift : Generally 1 : 30pm-9pm with rotating weekends
• Full time, 40 hours per week

The Youth Care Professional is responsible for providing reliable and timely support and reinforcement of all therapeutic programing by providing guidance and direction to clients in their daily living activities by utilizing trauma informed practices to maintain a safe environment, while ensuring the client’s needs are met.

Primary responsibilities :

Acts as a mentor and role model by showing compassion, empathy, and respectful communication with staff and clients.

Accurately administers medications and ensures compliant, precise documentation.

Leads and supervises off-campus client activities, assisting with client transportation for visits, appointments, and events.

Ensures safety compliance across living areas, campus grounds, and off-campus activities.

Maintains positive team collaboration and actively participates in meetings, advocating for client and family needs.
