Job Responsibilities
The person in this position will assist with processing Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Progeam (FFVP) monthly reimbursement claims in SC Automated Payment System (SCAPS) and Equipment Grant expenditure claims submitted in Grants Accounting Processing System (GAPS). Assist with preparing the FFVP and Equipment proposals according to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines and South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) processes for timely submissions for funding. Assist with providing nutrition education and other resources to the FFVP participants. Assist with providing technical assistance to participating School Food Authorities (SFAs) throughout each grant cycle. Assist with confirming data requirements (free and reduced-price eligibility percentages, Unique Entity Identified (UEI) status, enrollment, etc.) for FFVP and Equipment applicants. Assist with providing information to complete the Coordinated Administrative Reviews (AR) for SFAs that participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Assist with providing documentation to complete USDA quarterly reports and SCDE Office of Health and Nutrition (OHN) Procurement Reviews upon request by Program Coordinator and / or Director. Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator and / or Director.
This position is located in the Office of Health and Nutrition.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., science nutrition, dietetics, public health, food science) may be substituted for the required program experience; or an associate degree in a relevant field and one (1) year of relevant program experience; or three (3) years of experience in nutrition, nutrition education, food service management, or USDA food programs.
Additional Comments
Public speaking and able to teach food service directors, food service managers and in the classroom of schools. Some occasional travel (including overnight). Position requires extensive typing / computer work.
