Job Description
Shipper / Receiver
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares and packs items for shipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates the handling of export documentation required for outbound shipments including customer information, shipment details, bill of lading instructions, transportation details, and invoices.
- Assembles orders, checks against shipping or customer order and reports shortages and incomplete orders.
- Selects appropriate shipping containers and packing material.
- Operates standard manual and automatic equipment.
- Stacks shipments on skids and takes shipments to shipping dock.
- Receives and unpacks materials and supplies.
- Checks receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages, or defects. Expedites material to proper department or storage location.
- Operates crane, hoist, or power truck to move materials.
- Adhere to safety and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- May rotate to other workstations in the unit.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
