Pay Rate : $16.49 / Hr

Work Hours : Temporary Contract. 6-30 hours per week as needed and may be requested to fill in as needed, including Saturday shifts from 8 : 30 am-2 : 30 pm.

Position Summary : The overall purpose of this job is : The Testing Center is responsible for PSCC testing activities. These primarily include administration, proctoring, and proper security of testing materials. We also administer basic skills assessment tests, class testing for teachers including online courses, testing for off-campus agencies, other colleges and universities, and the administration of exams such as Certiport, CLEP, DSST, HESI, Kryterion, and HiSET.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities :

85% Test Administration

1. Operates Testing Centers with or without Testing Technician I (checks in students, pulls student tests, finds passwords, handles student / instructor concerns, seats examinees, helps examinees log-on to computers, starts timing instruments as needed, collects completed tests and testing materials, watches examinees to ensure administration conditions are met in the Testing Centers, etc.).

2. Successfully complete requirement necessary to achieve certification to administer a number of standardized exams, such as Certiport, CLEP, DSST,HESI, Kryterion, and HiSET.

3. Explains individual testing requirements and procedures to students and resolves any misunderstandings using appropriate customer service and management techniques.

4. Collaborate with faculty regarding test revisions, availability of tests, and guidelines and testing options for various tests.

5. Prepare an Incident Report to document irregularities, testing discrepancies, or dishonesty and forward report and copies of pertinent materials to faculty and Test Supervisor.

6. Maintains an optimal testing environment that adheres to college, standardized and National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards.

7. Collaborates with Supervisor, Test Administrators, and other testing staff regarding improving / changing testing operations, staffing, and updating of Testing Center policies and procedures.

8. Provides information, clarification and advice to testing staff regarding test delivery, policies, procedures, test retrieval and use of specialized computer testing software.

9. Interprets often complicated procedures for administration of proctored tests from other colleges / universities and standardized testing companies; and comprehends delivery methods for several categories of tests, including classroom make-up, Internet, CBT, essays, pre-GED, and other remote / proctored exams delivered paper / pencil or computer-based format.

10. Helps maintain security and accountability of tests before, during, and after testing in compliance with established guidelines.

11. Performs office related duties as required, including answering phones and making test appointments, preparing deposits for testing funds, creating flyers for test schedules and policies, answering test questions, scanning tests or answer sheets, making copies, filing, and faxing / mailing tests / reports.

12. Performs other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with the use of computer equipment and knowledge of office related skills.
• Certification training and exams must be completed prior to administering tests that require such certification (HiSET, CLEP, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications :

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Must have excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Must have excellent decision-making skills. Excellent customer service and computer-related skills are required to be fully qualified for this position. A second language is not needed or required.
