The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work

This posting is for multiple vacancies:

Position #s: 608049

This position will report to the Security Accountability Section.
This position will be responsible for statewide consultation and coordination of the Publications Appeals Program for Offenders and serve as the lead program expert for policy and program questions.
This position will manage and coordinate Category I Offender Publication appeals by conducting independent reviews of each issue or edition of a publication prior to rejection.
This position will be responsible for providing notifications to all facilities and offenders in writing detailing the status of all Category I Publications.
This position will conduct training with prison personnel in understanding interpreting and implementing the policies procedures and goals of the Publications Appeals Program.

Salary Grade Range: $47703.00 - $83479.00

Salary Pay Grade: NC12

  • Demonstrated skills and experience to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing applying and interpreting policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel officials and the general public.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience to participate effectively in program planning evaluation and quality control methods.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience to plan assign and supervise the work of subordinate positions.

  • Experience reviewing Offender Publications.
