Job Overview

The Manager of HCC Coding is responsible for managing the coding team that support AltaMed’s risk adjustment initiatives and implementing operational and clinical best practices in the risk adjustment methodology, understanding clinical suspects and appropriate clinical documentation and accurate coding. Primary responsibility is to manage and train a team of coders to review and validate member’s charts, MHAs, and educate the providers on documentation principles of HCC. Secondary responsibility is to ensure that the Coder / Auditors maintain production levels to achieve stated company goals. Oversee chart retrieval process and insure proper retrieval to support AltaMed objectives and Health Plan audits. Establish interactive internal communication between coders and providers, monitor staff activities to ensure all tasks are compliant and following CMS guidelines and regulations.

Minimum Requirements :

1. Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required.

1. Minimum 5 years of healthcare and HCC Coding experience required.

2. CRC certified.

3. Thorough knowledge of Medicare Risk Model and CMS guidelines.
