QUALITY OF CARE
Engages in development of priority strategies to improve clinical quality.
Engages in development and maintenance of clinical practice guidelines.
Ensures direct reports were up to date on evidence-based guidelines in the specialty.
Reviews records of practitioners supervised to ensure quality and safe care.
Shadows practitioners to observe the quality of care provided.
PATIENT SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT
Ensures all direct reports complete the appropriate number and quality of peer reviews as directed.
Provides aggregate feedback on peer review results to supervised practitioners.
Upon request, reviews records of potential patient litigation and provides productive feedback on care provided.
EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES OVERSIGHT
Consistently ensures appropriate functioning of department equipment.
Ensures the availability and utilization of manufacturer’s instructions for use of all existing equipment.
Ensures clinicians are competent with the use of equipment.
SUPERVISORY MEETING MANAGEMENT
Consistently schedules and leads supervised practitioner group meetings.
This refers to for e.g., DI provider meetings or FM provider meetings
Supervisory meetings are deemed valuable and productive by direct reports.
MEETING PARTICIPATION
Consistently participates in assigned performance council meetings e.g., PIC or Primary Care PI.
Consistently participates in HPS and Clinical Directors’ meetings.
Is consistent in attendance of scheduled meetings with supervisor.
USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TOOLS
This includes use of SharePoint, Microsoft planner, etc.
Open to using technology for department oversight.
Demonstrates the use of Microsoft Planner for documentation and tracking of opportunities for improvement and / or action plans.
Consistently utilizes Microsoft Teams in departmental communications.
Available and engaged in leadership communications via Microsoft Teams.
DATA ANALYSIS, REPORTING & PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT
Measures include UDS, ACO, HEDIS
Consistently reviews departmental patient visit data with direct reports.
Consistently reviews UDS quality measures with direct reports.
Consistently reviews EPIC analytics efficiency data with direct reports.
Measures refer to those in EPIC analytics e.g., chart closure rate
Consistently reviews EPIC SIGNAL data with direct reports.
Demonstrates engagement in use of data to improve performance.
Utilizes PI tools and techniques for example PDSAs / DMAIC / Fish bone diagrams for performance improvement.
Improvement is demonstrated in UDS quality measure assigned.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Engages in ensuring compliance with HRSA operational measures.
Engages in ensuring compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards.
Engages in ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and county regulations for patient care.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Contributes to CHI’s strategic direction or engages in strategic planning activities.
Consistently shares strategic plan with department staff.
Engages in activities to improve overall patient visit goals in department or specialty.
Engages in activities to improve customer service excellence.
LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT
Serves as an effective role model for direct reports.
Demonstrates inspirational leadership of direct reports.
Completes performance evaluations of direct reports.
Holds direct reports accountable for under performance.
Completes an appropriate number of site-visits in the year.

Develops and maintains schedules for direct reports.
Ensures that staff scheduling meets the needs of CHI’s patients.
Ensures timely conflict and issue resolution.
OVERSIGHT OF LEARNERS
Willing to accept learners in the department.
Engages in scheduling learners in department.
Reviews goals from the students’ programs with preceptors.
Provides effective precepting of learners.
Completes learner evaluations in a timely fashion.
STAFF RECRUITMENT, TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT AND RETENTION
Ensures recruitment of quality clinicians.
Ensures a structured onboarding process for new clinicians.
Develops a training plan for supervised clinicians.
Executes effective training of clinicians.
Assesses direct reports for professional and educational growth needs.
Develops or proposes plans to assist clinicians in achieving growth goals.
Direct reports make progress with growth goals.
Promotes wellness activities in practitioners.
Engaged in activities to retain clinicians.
