Specifications Writer

Specifications Writer in our Lakeland, TN office.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Prepare project specifications
• Advising project teams as they write Schematic Design narratives
• Work with Project Managers in project meetings and other coordination efforts with firm clients and building owners.
• Developing specifications from meetings as the project develops
• Reviewing drawings and specifications to coordinate designations
• Enhancing and maintaining A2H master specifications within the Quality Assurance Department
• Reaching out to local municipalities to understand current codes and standards related to material specifications
• Working with project teams and reviewing architectural plans to prepare specification
• Assisting project teams in resolving problems related to the use and installation of building materials and products that arise during design and construction
• Conveying a broad knowledge of building codes, structures, basic construction law and materials standards to others
• Staying current on product development, new materials, and industry trends
• Assisting with quality control and quality assurance processes

Requirements

• A minimum of five years of architectural specification writing experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in architecture preferred but not required
• Private and public sector project experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience with medium and large-scale, technically-complex projects required
• Profiency with SpecLink software
• Knowledge of CSI principles and construction materials required
• CSI Certification is preferred
• Demonstrated experience in different project types in A2H catalog
• Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel
• Experience with MS Outlook email and calendar
