A company is looking for a Coding Specialist for Outpatient Surgery in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately code Outpatient Surgery and Observation records using ICD10CM and CPT4 coding systems
Ensure compliance with coding rules and regulations set by Regulatory Agencies
Abstract prescribed data elements from medical records and collaborate with the team to meet departmental goals
Required Qualifications
High School diploma, certification, GED, or equivalent experience
AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist or AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician certification required
Required Coding Certificate; must obtain CCS or RHIT certification within 2 years if not certified upon hire
Knowledge of encoder systems and outpatient payment systems (OPPS, APCs, ASC)
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
