Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney (M&A / Private Equity) to join a leading Am Law 100 firm in Boston.
About the Role
Direct Counsel is partnering with a nationally recognized corporate practice to recruit an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of private equity transactional experience. This role supports a sophisticated M&A and private equity practice representing funds, financial institutions, portfolio companies, and public and private enterprises across a wide range of transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, and related corporate transactions.
Support private equity funds and financial institutions throughout the investment lifecycle.
Provide high-quality legal service both independently and as part of a collaborative national corporate team.
Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to clients.
Engage in professional development consistent with an on-track partnership role.
Qualifications
J.D. or LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Admission or eligibility for admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
3+ years of M&A and private equity transactional experience.
Strong academic credentials and excellent critical reasoning abilities.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage competing deadlines, stay organized, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
Strong team collaboration skills.
Work Structure
Hybrid schedule with approximately 60% in-office presence, in accordance with firm guidelines.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $260,000–$365,000, with eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
