Lab Technician

Job Title : Lab TechnicianJob Description

The role of Lab Technician involves performing chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using standard testing methods as prescribed by ASTM standards. The technician will handle analyses on new samples, prepare solutions or solvents for tests, transfer samples within the lab, and maintain workbooks and equipment according to standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and instrumental analysis on various samples using ASTM testing standards.
• Conduct analyses on new samples introduced into the lab.
• Prepare solutions or solvents required for testing procedures.
• Transfer samples between areas within the lab.
• Maintain workbooks and laboratory equipment daily, weekly, and monthly according to SOP and TIP test procedures.

Work Environment

The position is set in an industrial lab environment focused on research related to automotive products. Work shifts are from 6am to 3pm, 8am to 5pm, or 3pm to 11pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided. Candidates will gain valuable analytical lab experience to help grow their careers. The lab environment may have a fuel or oil smell due to the nature of the samples handled.

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50 / hr.
