The Chief Of Staff is a critical position supporting senior leadership, enabling leaders to execute strategic work while ensuring operational rigor. The Chief Of Staff is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining the following four strategic areas foundational for the success of a senior leader within Enterprise Platforms Technology : Strategy, Operational Excellence, Communications, and Organizational Capability. Candidates should have a passion for technology, strong strategic command, an engaging executive presence, exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills, expertise in relationship-building, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once. Candidates should be excited about improving the daily lives and development of our engineers and help our leaders advance our strategy at scale.

Responsibilities :

• Serve as a strategic thought partner for our Enterprise Platforms Technology senior leadership team member, helping guide the operations and management of their organization.
• Act as a central point of contact between the EPTech senior leadership team member and other key partners. Ensure alignment of leaders across the organization.
• Prioritize and focus leaders in a number of key areas (goals, labor strategy, budget etc). Aid the EPTech senior leadership team member in strategic planning, uncovering critical efficiencies and preventing duplication of effort.
• Understand the senior leadership team member's organizational strategy and vision, driving and tracking goals and priorities.
• Assist the senior leadership team member with strategic planning, including financial and resource planning in collaboration with key partners, including the EPTech Chiefs Of Staff, Finance, and Product.
• Create and manage effective, scalable processes to manage operating rhythms. Requires an ability to lead and influence to inject new operational processes to drive executional discipline and excellence.
• Work closely with partner business units and functions to align operations with strategy. Influence across all levels of the organization and across organizations.
• Work with the senior leadership team member to plan and execute key messages and deliver to internal audiences with a high priority on consistent, frequent organizational communications.
• Develop relationships within direct and extended team members to act as an informed and helpful sounding board and thought partner.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Remote (Regardless of Location) : $205,400 - $234,400 for Director, Chief Of Staff

McLean, VA : $226,000 - $257,900 for Director, Chief Of Staff

Richmond, VA : $205,400 - $234,400 for Director, Chief Of Staff

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
