Description:
A cath lab tech, short for cardiac catheterization laboratory technician, works in the operating room at a hospital or similar medical facility to monitor patient cardiovascular health during invasive procedures. Duties involve using electrocardiography (EKG) equipment to help detect issues with the heart or blood vessels, taking patient medical histories, and assisting doctors with other tasks as needed during procedures.

Duties involve using electrocardiography (EKG) equipment to help detect issues with the heart or blood vessels, taking patient medical histories, and assisting doctors with other tasks as needed during procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs and interprets electrocardiograms and other diagnostic tests.
- Helps doctors diagnose blood vessel and heart problems.
- Assists doctors during medical procedures, including stent implants.
- Makes patients feel comfortable during tests and procedures.
- Works with doctors, nurses, and other medical and administrative staff.
- Ensures all tools and equipment are in good condition and stocks supplies.
- Notifies doctors and nurses about patient test results.
- Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) credentials Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
- Vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
- Vaccinated for Influenza, seasonal
