GENERAL DUTIES

• Processes surgical instruments and supplies and uses appropriate techniques in handling instruments to avoid injury.
• Assures all the required instruments are on the tray by counting each instrument and verifying count in instrument tracking system.
• Decontaminates surgical instrumentation and resets instrument trays.
• Analyzes the outcome of the sterilization process to determine success and recalls loads if there is a discrepancy in

the process.
