Application Database Developer - SQL Server & PostgreSQL

A talented Application Database Developer with expertise in SQL Server and PostgreSQL is needed to design, develop, and maintain robust database solutions that support critical business applications. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with application developers and business analysts to create scalable, secure, and efficient database objects, driving optimal data access and system performance. Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain database objects including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, and functions in SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Write efficient, optimized SQL queries and scripts to support application functionality and reporting needs.
• Collaborate with application developers to understand data requirements and translate them into database solutions.
• Participate in database schema design and data modeling to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
• Assist in database migration, upgrade, and deployment activities.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and data integration workflows as needed.
• Ensure database security by implementing appropriate access controls and permissions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, testing, and production environments.
• Document database designs, development processes, and coding standards.
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Strong experience in database development using Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

Experience with database design, normalization, and data modeling techniques.

Familiarity with performance tuning and query optimization in both SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of version control systems and database deployment processes.

Experience with scripting languages (T-SQL, PL / pgSQL) and automation tools.
