Must-Have :

Completion of an approved Surgical Technician training program accredited by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)

On-the-job training in a clinical healthcare setting or military specialty

Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or current certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

Description :

This position requires rotational scheduling and on-call coverage.

Responsibilities include performing basic duties of a surgical technologist.

Assist with positioning, surgical prepping, and draping of the surgical patient.

Set up an operating room before surgery and ensure all needed equipment and instrumentation are available and in working condition for the scheduled surgical procedure.

Surgical specialties include General Surgery, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Podiatry, Urology, and others for adult and pediatric patients.

Maintaining current certification and basic life support certification is mandatory throughout employment.

Approximately 49% of the surgeries performed are outpatient / ambulatory surgical procedures.
