Posting Details (Default Section) Posting Number 9002054 Title IT Technician Position Type Full-Time Department Information Services Job Summary This position operates as the point of contact for NCTC Information Technology Services to staff, faculty, students, and vendors on project status and needs on the respective campus. Act as a direct supervisor and mentor to part-time Audio-Visual Technicians, while answering helpdesk phones, troubleshooting, repairing, and verifying the quality and health of production computers and classroom technologies. Maintain and catalog IT assets, services, computers, and office and classroom technologies.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Wipe, Image, Prep, and Deploy new computers
- Troubleshooting, repair, and verify the quality and health of production computers and classroom technologies
- Active Directory : Computer Management, unlock accounts and reset passwords
- Assisting the Networking team with troubleshooting the network as they work remotely. This involves spending time in the MDFs and IDFs to verify networking hardware is functioning correctly.
- Catalog IT assets for the Denton campus
- Regularly meeting with building Administration on IT updates for the Denton campus
- Training on Acceptable Use Policy, Helpdesk Policy and Procedure, Office and Classroom technologies, Fundamental computer and network security precautions and prevention
- Event Preparations and Support
- Manage Part time employees
- Answering helpdesk phone calls to assist both internal and external users with : Account access and services, software and hardware support, printers, network connectivity, IP phone services, and remote desktop accessibility.
- Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based in the needs of the department and the institution.
