Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking Optical Sensor Integration Engineers to join the Optical Sensor Integrated Product Team (IPT) for optical sensor development on Air Proprietary Program in Berkeley MO .

As a member of the Electro-Optical / Infrared (EO / IR) IPT for a major proprietary program you will provide technical leadership and drive technical execution in the development of a new optical sensor system. You will be a primary technical interface to the program leadership the optical sensor supplier and the customer. Additionally you can expect to drive compliance with program and company processes as well as recommend areas for process improvement.

Position Responsibilities :

• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes. Works closely with program managers program chief engineers and other Boeing Teams to arrive at high quality solutions
• Ensure mission success and prompt resolution of anomalies
• Provides technical leadership and ensures common practices across programs
• Drives technical excellence throughout all Optical Sensor development activities
• Serves as the primary technical interface with the EO / IR Suppliers
• Provides mentoring and coaching to Optical Sensor Engineers
• Performs Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) functions for assigned mentees
• Drives best practices to meet programs cost schedule quality and technical objectives
• Captures lessons learned and best practices for implementation on future programs
• Resolves complex problems impacting completion of program milestones
• Coordinates with Boeing Leadership and Customer Leadership on Technical Issues and Strategy
