American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Float Pool position, requiring AZ or Compact RN licensure and strong cardiac drip titration skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Telemetry Float Pool within an acute care hospital settingFloat between all Telemetry and MedSurg units, with possible assignments in ICU, Cardiac Tele, observation, Cath Lab, ER, and both Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campusesFloat assignments notified 1.5 hours prior to shift start, with rare mid-shift floats between campuses (9 miles apart)Patient populations include post-cath lab, vascular procedures, neuro post-surgical, surgical, orthopedic, oncology, and general MedSurg, ages 15 and olderTypical patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 for Tele and 1 : 4 for MedSurg, with support from PCTs and charge nurses who do not take patients12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7am, with a requirement to work four weekend shifts per schedule and two of three major holidaysUse of Cerner EMR and centralized telemetry monitoring; GE Monitors on some MedSurg unitsFloor-specific orientation includes 2 days per unitCare for a variety of cardiac, neuro, surgical, orthopedic, and oncology patientsMust float as first priority and may float to lower acuity units and a range of holding areasMajority of duties include titrating specific cardiac medications, post-surgical care, and monitoring telemetry patientsMust wear navy scrubsTeam structure includes charge nurses without patient assignments, Clinical Supervisors, and PCTsRelias dysrhythmia exam and Sim Lab are pass / fail and mandatory for continued employmentNo pediatrics; patient care is for ages 15 and olderMust not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the last yearCOVID and Flu vaccination requirements may apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses)Minimum 2 years of RN experience in telemetry or related acute care setting requiredCurrent certifications : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSAbility to titrate cardiac drips requiredMust pass dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing (maximum 2 attempts)Pass / fail Sim Lab on first day of orientation is requiredAbility to interpret EKGs is requiredCopy of driver’s license required for considerationTwo references required : one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
