Sales Representative
Under direct supervision, promotes, sells, and ensures on-time delivery of the organization's products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range, or list of customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets. Pursues sales leads; visits existing and new customers; assesses customer needs and suggests appropriate products and services; responds to customer inquiries; negotiates prices and delivery times within limits of authority; and concludes sales orders to meet revenue targets. Identifies, researches, and contacts prospective customers and builds positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business. Refers sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands. Establishes annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritizes and schedules own activities so these targets are met.
Liaison between customer and internal global affiliates resolving business related issues
Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external customers to effectively be able to resolve issues and gather information, reporting to and consulting with management throughout the process
Maintains information relevant to all activities and analyzes changes in trends to support making strategic business decisions
Implements customer / product-based strategies, as directed by management, to maintain and expand business opportunities
Compile, prepare and review request for quotation (RFQ) information from customers
Ensures manufacturing and business planning teams are consulted on RFQs to form commercial proposal strategies in unison with them before presenting the proposals to the customer
Negotiate commercial proposals with customers
Coordinates pre-production activities through launch by such activities as quoting sample parts pricing, developing new product schedules, coordinating tooling, processing sample orders, coordinating PPAP approval preparedness etc. all to ensure part readiness by a projects start of production (SOP)
Understand technical aspects, lead commercial activities, and program manage deliverables in the design change process of DENSO's products and services preventing loss and maximizing profitability
Supports DENSO production control departments as well as the customer in supply chain management getting our parts from our production plants and warehouses to the customer final delivery locations at the highest quality and lowest cost
May assist quality engineering in resolving quality related issues and their corresponding commercial impacts
Monitors DENSO's supplier rantings (delivery, quality, commercial) with the customer and constantly work with corresponding internal departments to find areas of improvement to strive to be the #1 supplier of choice with our customers
Follows up and assists in resolving accounts receivable related issues, ensuring accuracy and completion of all related paperwork (purchase orders, airfreight bills, etc.)
May assist in developing sales plans for existing customers and in identifying potential and / or future business opportunities
Assists in cost analysis, tracking and profit improvement activities working with internal business planning teams
Assists business units in investigating value-added (VA) opportunities, obtaining customer approval of process, and executing design changes to achieve cost savings or other business operational efficiencies
Adherence to policy as outlined in DIAM standards processes and contractual obligations with our customers
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management or related field
0-3 years of relevant experience
In-depth knowledge of the internet and explorer applications to retrieve and post data and research information
Written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers on issues of moderate to considerable importance, up to and including senior management
Customer service skills. Ability to promote and support a service-oriented environment.
Demonstrated problem solving skills Analytical skills with an ability to gather and analyze data
Negotiation skills. Ability to defend position strongly while keenly aware of the need to maximize benefits for all sides.
