[job_card.job_description]RESUME REQUIRED WITH SUBMISSION LOCAL ONLY WITHIN A 50-MINUTE COMMUTE 11800 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90025 Required : HSD / GED Phlebotomy Cert, CA CPT BLS 3 years of experience Preferred : Epic experience Primary Duties and Responsibilities Maintains and understands the daily phlebotomy schedule in the EMR Prepares for patient blood draw based on the physician's orders in the EMR Understands where to locate and how to comply with test collection requirements for each laboratory facility performing testing, including appropriate kits and paperwork required for esoteric testing Collects the appropriate tubes required for each test order Collects Specimens while following policy and procedure and maintaining the integrity of the process with strict adherence to patient identification policy Effectively communicates with physicians and physician teams when order clarification is necessary Adheres to hygiene and safety procedures Inventories supplies for the phlebotomy area, restock as necessary Performs a weekly expiration date check of all phlebotomy supplies Rotates stored patient specimens from refrigerator to freezer storage and discards old samples Assists the processing bench as needed for coverage during lunch and end-of-day duties
