Source One is a consulting services company and we’re currently looking for the following individual to work as a consultant to our direct client, an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company in Foster City, CA.

We are unable to work with third-party companies or offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Title : Endpoint Administrator (Linux) - Contract

Pay Range : $75 / hr - $80 / hr (W-2) plus benefits

Schedule : Monday-Friday, standard business hours

Hybrid role : 3 days on-site and 2 days remote

Job description : The Endpoint Engineering team manages the company’s physical and virtual endpoints to ensure they are secure, reliable, and consistent at scale. We're seeking an experienced Linux administrator to support the rollout and ongoing maintenance of our Linux desktop fleet, with a focus on configuration management, automation, and fleet operations. In this role, you will help manage the company’s physical and virtual endpoints to ensure they are secure, reliable, and consistent at scale.

Responsibilities :

Perform Linux system installation, configuration, patching, and ongoing maintenance across physical and virtual desktops

Implement and maintain SaltStack configurations to enforce system baselines and automate repeatable tasks

Contribute to sprint-based engineering efforts focused on endpoint reliability, compliance, and lifecycle management

Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across a large fleet of Linux systems

Execute operational procedures for OS / software updates, re-imaging, and break / fix scenarios

Participate in change management processes and maintain accurate technical documentation

Collaborate with engineers and IT support teams to ensure endpoint compliance and functionality

Required skills :

6+ years of experience supporting large-scale Linux desktop environments in production settings

Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu / Debian Linux, including imaging, patching, and support

Proficient in configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible

Experience writing scripts in Bash and / or Python to automate common system tasks

Familiarity with sprint-based or agile project work

Experience with tools like Jira for task and incident tracking

Clear communicator with strong attention to detail and follow-through

Nice to Have :

Experience supporting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments

Familiarity with VMware-based VDI platforms and management tools
