Curiosity and willingness to learn robotics, mapping, and simulation systems. Experience with ROS2 , perception, control, or motion planning. Familiarity with human-robot interaction or user interface design. Knowledge of secure data systems, cloud platforms, or AI pipelines. Job Type : Full-time Work Location : In person (Gainesville, FL) Work Authorization : Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Rovex cannot sponsor visas at this time.) As part of our engineering team, you’ll help bring medical robotics to market in a way that saves time, money, and lives.
Role Overview
As a Software Engineer at Rovex, you’ll design and develop the software systems that power our autonomous hospital robots — including mapping, simulation, and real-time coordination between robots and hospital environments. You’ll work across backend infrastructure, perception, and control software while collaborating with hardware engineers to build, test, and deploy robots in real clinical settings. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for an engineer who thrives on solving complex, meaningful problems in healthcare automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build reliable, scalable software for real-time systems and connected devices.
- Design modular architectures that integrate sensing, mapping, and user interfaces.
- Develop internal tools, dashboards, and simulation environments for testing and validation.
- Collaborate with robotics, electrical, and mechanical engineers to validate software in lab and hospital environments.
- Contribute to CI / CD pipelines, testing, and overall software reliability.
