What to Expect
Tesla's mission is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. The Product Manager, Powerwall Software will be a key member of the Residential Energy Products team that is responsible for delivering innovative products and features to generate, store, and consume sustainable energy at a customer's home. This role will be focused on defining and launching the key features and functionalities needed to scale the Powerwall product line, the flagship Tesla Residential Energy product. Specifically, this role will : Unblock and win all the markets -ensure Powerwall meets all core compliance and regulatory requirements to enable sales in new and existing markets, while delivering best-in-class software features to increase market share globally.Shepherd engineering-driven improvements : serve as the voice of the customer for all performance improvements to device operation.Expand to new applications : Open new opportunities by supporting new Powerwall use cases and installation configurations.
This is a multi-faceted role where flexibility to apply your skills to a variety of projects and changing product needs is a must. The ability to understand customer and market desires, combined with a solid technical foundation is expected. What You'll Do
Build the Powerwall software roadmap to grow sales and maintain position as global market leader
Identify underlying customer and technical problems to create detailed product requirements that solve for our three core users : system owners, installers, and support / service providers
Communicate and collaborate with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, engineering managers, service / support, and Powerwall customers
Develop compelling product presentations that drive cross-functional alignment across executives and other key stakeholders, ensuring that all teams are driving to the same outcome
Establish product and feature success metrics and track performance against goals
Define and execute pilot plans, analyzing results to improve feature performance and user experience
Drive successful commercialization of new features for all stakeholder by delivering training, measuring / gathering feedback, and providing visibility for engineering teams
What You'll Bring
3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager, with a focus on device software, embedded systems, or firmware for connected devices
Ability to leverage technical knowledge, analytical skills, and customer empathy to bridge the gap between user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility
Strong communication and documentation skills, enabling deep collaboration with cross-functional teams
Excellent problem-solving skills paired with a creative, customer-focused mindset to address challenges and define innovative solutions
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel with strong attention to detail and organization
Technical understanding of energy products such Inverters, Battery Storage and Vehicle Charging
Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Passionate about accelerating the transition to sustainable energy

Expected Compensation $108,000 - $192,000 / annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
