Overview

The MCW Department of Ophthalmology is seeking an academically oriented comprehensive ophthalmologist to join the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. This is an open-rank, full-time position in a traditional-track or clinician-educator track. The Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute is a full-service academic ophthalmology center with 27 physicians, 7 optometrists, and 5 faculty vision scientists.

Practice location and schedule

The practice is based at the Eye Specialists clinic in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin (west of Racine), with ample operating room time at the Drexel Town Square Surgery Center in Oak Creek. Call is shared equally with the ophthalmology team, equating to 3-4 weeks of trauma and consult call per year.

Qualifications and expectations

Successful candidates should bring strong clinical and surgical abilities, interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to MCW’s academic missions. Candidates must be board Certified / Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology and be eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin. An interest in clinical or basic science research is desirable and could be supported.
