Customs Planning Specialist

Job Title

Position Summary

1. Senses changes in customs policy or business environment, analyzes the effect and make countermeasures and set strategies by utilizing internal control processes, duty exemption and customs preferences.

2. Carry out pre-inspection and set countermeasures when customs investigation or dispute occur and prevent investigation expansion or tax charging through proper explanation and find a solution to deal with the customs office's challenges upon the customs declaration's appropriateness regarding customs delay, taxable amount, item classification and etc.

3. Sense and analyze trends regarding strategic goods' international export control system and business environment changes and build countermeasures accordingly.

4. Set internal control processes for legal declarations such as strategic goods confirmation upon exporting items and export approval declarations and etc., and build strategies to utilize government's preferential policies.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Sensing policy changes: Participate in preemptively sensing changes in foreign trade and customs policies and analyze their impact on our company.

2. Customs optimization: Analyze data in order to establish a measure which can be utilized to optimize various customs and monitor post management related issues.

3. Customs risks management: Analyze data in order to establish an internal control strategy for informed compliance (complying with laws with autonomy) and participate in preparing for acquiring an official approval for AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) from a customs authority and maintaining it.

4. Improvement of regulations and customs processes: Participate in an improvement project to discover regulations which do not align with new businesses and changes in international trade environment and meet international standards like WTO. Make a review document.

5. Participate in discovering and implementing a system and process improvement project in order to increase work efficiency and effectively manage risks.

6. Developing a policy to manage import and export of strategic goods and managing self-compliance trader certification: Participate in enhancing efficiency regarding systemization of managing processes such as strategic goods confirmation, import and export trade monitoring, export approval and etc., and building management policies upon import and export, and internal controlling system related tasks to obtain and maintain self-compliance trader certification upon strategic goods.

7. Responding to customs issues: Participate in checking required information and conduct pre-inspection internally, and developing response measures by analyzing critical issues and securing favorable evidences.
