Manager - Risk Management
In partnership with the Director, the Risk Manager has responsibility for researching, coordinating, implementing, and following up on activities related to the hospital-wide Risk Management Program (TERM). Specific activities encompass collecting and analyzing risk management and patient safety data, managing the complaint and grievance process, analysis of the data and recommendation of programs to mitigate risk and improve patient safety. Works collaboratively with departments to implement Corporate and Facility risk reduction strategies and patient safety goals. The position entails data collection, analysis, reporting, educating, providing leadership, and being accountable for related activities. This position is an integral part of the Risk/Compliance team in providing support services to the facility. Provides departmental cross training for back-up support as needed to the Director of Risk Management. This position reports directly to the Director of Risk Management. He/she will support that a framework is established and utilized to lead risk management programs that are proven to deliver tangible operational and strategic business value, supports a Just Culture, and promotes exceptional patient-centered care.
Qualifications EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University required
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in patient advocacy, complaint/grievance management and/or healthcare risk management required; five years preferred.
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission Standards and CMS/DHS Regulations required
- Knowledge of the Centers of Medicare Conditions of Participation, California acute care regulations, and the functions of the California Department of Public Health. Ability to respond and develop plans of correction/evidence to regulatory agencies preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.
