Log Data Engineer (contract position)

Location : Hybrid - Onsite Mondays & Tuesdays in Owings Mills, MD

We're seeking a Log Data Engineer with strong experience in both infrastructure and data engineering (DataOps). This role requires autonomy, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage priorities with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines (Java, JavaScript, Python) on Unix-based systems
• Build fault-tolerant solutions for log data ingestion, processing, and storage
• Automate infrastructure tasks using Ansible or other scripting tools
• Support platform upgrades, incident resolution, and user coordination
• Create documentation and training materials
• Enable batch and real-time analytics using modern data tools and cloud services
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain system reliability
