[job_card.job_description]Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment. Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex. This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information. Working towards Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required. Familiar with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities. Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts. Must comply with Vestal Corporations' core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among and with employees.
JOB SUMMARY : The Civil Engineer Intern will assist civil project design phases and work closely with Senior Civil Engineers.
JOB DUTIES :
- Review civil design schedule to align with target dates for deliverables.
- Observe project strategy meetings within discipline.
- Assist with site layout and design, grading, Storm water drainage, sanitary sewer design and erosion control design.
- Review flood studies.
- Review and assist with development of pavement and roadway design for industrial and commercial projects.
- Coordinate with various disciplines for seamless project execution.
- Interface directly with clients and external partners.
- Maintain Civil Design / engineering standards and procedures.
- Comply with Company's Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
- Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization's goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.
