Description :

Shift hours are from 07 : 00 to 18 : 15, Monday through Thursday, and 07 : 00 to 16 : 45 on Friday.

Guaranteed hours are 40 hours per week.

No call or weekend requirements.

The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

The role includes following the established plan of care and goals set by the Physical Therapist.

Family and community education is provided as part of the responsibilities.

Direct patient care involves performing physical, electrical, mechanical, and heat treatments according to the treatment plan.

Assisting in individual and group Physical Therapy activities is required to facilitate patient participation successfully.

Engagement in interdisciplinary team discussions or hospital rounds is part of the duties.

Program development and serving as a resource in areas of expertise are expected.

Participation in the student program and providing in-services in areas of expertise is included in the role.

The possibility of cross-training and providing coverage at other departments may be required.

Documentation in the electronic health record must be completed per compliance timelines.

The therapist will maintain accurate, legible, and complete records for each individual served.

Participation in committees and task forces is expected.

Engaging in process improvement and demonstrating time management skills is part of the responsibilities.

Supervision of Rehabilitation Clinical Assistants, Physical Therapist Assistant students, and volunteers is required.

The Physical Therapist Assistant must maintain competencies based on the population served and advances in healthcare sciences and technology.
