Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a CA license and robotics experience for an acute care assignment.
Responsibilities
Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital settingHandles a broad case mix : ortho, urology, GYN, neuro, hands, podiatry, vascular, general surgery, ENT, bariatrics, pediatrics, and roboticsExpectation to provide care across all listed surgical specialties, including use of DaVinci RoboticsUnit includes 5 OR suites with 8-30 cases per dayUtilizes Cerner Surginet EMR; prior Cerner experience is requiredScheduled for 8-hour shifts, primarily 11 : 00 am–7 : 30 pm with every other weekend shiftsOn-call requirement : One weeknight per week, one weekend per month (24-hour Sat / Sun), on-call for one major and one minor holiday30-minute call response time requiredFloating may be required to nearby facilities within approximately 6.5 milesScrubs are providedUnit / department orientation is up to two daysResponsibilities include circulating and assisting for a wide range of surgical specialtiesCharge nurse and OR techs are present to provide supportEnvironment is currently under construction with potential for increased noiseOn-call participation is structured by rotation and is a rare occurrenceHoliday coverage expectations include one major and one minor holidayRNs may be floated between facilities as necessaryReturning candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past yearOrientation includes up to two days specific to the operating room departmentRequirements
Active CA RN license required at time of application; pending licenses are not acceptedCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum of 3 years of OR experience in an acute care settingExperience in all listed common surgical specialties and robotics requiredCerner Surginet EMR experience requiredMust reside or stay within a 30-minute radius for call responseSubmission must include a copy of current driver's licenseTwo professional references required : one supervisor reference from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibilityBenefits
