Shift Notes : Days : 8 hrs : M-Th : 6 : 45A – 3 : 15P (8 Hour Days) F : 6 : 45A – 11 : 30A (4 Hour Day) / / 36 Hour Guarantee

Weekend Requirements : 1 weekend per 4 week schedule

On Call Requirements : 1 Night call per week and 1 weekend per 4 week schedule

Job Description :

This individual fills the role of surgical technologist in the Operating Room. Surgical Technologist I understands and demonstrates the knowledge of surgical procedures. Assure all supplies and equipment are available for the procedure and in working condition. Confirms and / or assembles sterile instruments for use correctly. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon. They assist in keeping accurate account of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges. They are responsible for maintaining and monitoring the sterile field.

Responsibilities

(30%)

  • Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed. Verifies items on the physician preference card. Accountable for supplies so that accurate patient charges are billed.

  • Demonstrates proper use of equipment, assembling of equipment, disposables as well as cleaning and sterilizing. Assures all equipment, supplies and instruments are assembled correctly and in working condition for the surgical procedure.

  • Maintains the sterile environments. Monitors the sterile field and recognizes breaks in technique.

    • (10%)

  • Sets up sterile field with instruments in a timely manner. Keeps accurate account of all medications, sponges, instruments and sharps on the sterile fields per policy.

    • Requirements

    3+ Years of experience - Required

    Experience with Ortho, Sports Medicine, OB / GYN, Ophthalmic, and Urology - Required

    Proficient with C-Sections

    Travel Expereince - Highly Preferred

    NBSTSA, BLS (AHA) - Required

    VeeAR Health Job ID #63854. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
