Fully Remote Network Transport Engineer

TEKsystems is seeking a seasoned  Transport Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of a high-performance IP / MPLS core network for a top-tier Alaska-based ISP. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge optical and IP technologies in a collaborative environment, driving the reliability, scalability, and performance of a carrier-grade infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

1. Design, Planning & Engineering

• Architect packet-optical transport solutions with fiber route validation, power budgets, and OSNR margins
• Conduct fiber characterization (OTDR, CD, PMD, splice loss, return loss) to validate optical paths
• Engineer long-haul and metro DWDM / ROADM links using Ciena 6500 and photonic line systems
