About the Role

A prominent organization in the sports and entertainment industry is seeking a Manager of Revenue Accounting to manage revenue recognition, contract review, data reconciliation, and reporting processes across multiple systems. This role is analytical and data-driven, suited for someone experienced with ASC 606 and complex revenue accounting environments. The team values collaboration, process improvement, and the ability to work across finance, operations, technology, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will :

Review and evaluate revenue contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606

Lead month-end revenue close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis

Oversee revenue data mapping, transformation, and validation across multiple systems

Support preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for assigned revenue streams

Assist with external audits, providing required documentation and analysis

Maintain and strengthen internal controls over revenue processes

Act as subject-matter expert for Workday revenue functionality

Oversee licensing and payout calculations; manage reporting and data distribution

Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance revenue accuracy and efficiency

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial data requests and special projects

Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight

Qualifications

Required :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on revenue or general ledger

Experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries

Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition

Advanced Excel skills

Supervisory or team leadership experience

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred :

Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional)

CPA or CPA-eligible

Experience with Workday Financials

Prior experience with multi-stream or contracted revenue
