Public Affairs Representative II Pay Rate : $47.85 – $51.92 per hour Location : Downtown Los Angeles, CA Schedule : 9 / 80 Hybrid Schedule

• Early start times as early as 7 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 45 p.m.
• Every other Friday off
• Two days per week in office
• Approximately 70% local travel to community events, job fairs, and outreach programs Position Overview We are seeking a Public Affairs Representative II to support a high-visibility outreach and communications program serving diverse communities throughout Southern California. This role is ideal for a mid-level public affairs professional who enjoys being in the community, building relationships, presenting to stakeholders, and supporting outreach initiatives that create real impact. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, comfort with public speaking, and the ability to manage multiple outreach activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
• Write and edit public-facing communications, including articles, talking points, and outreach materials
• Support and coordinate outreach initiatives with community-based organizations, educational institutions, and public agencies
• Establish and strengthen relationships with regional partners, including Native Nations, CBOs, educational partners, cities, veterans organizations, and member agencies
• Organize and participate in community workshops, resume and interview skills webinars, job fairs, and cultural events
• Prepare and deliver presentations to educational, civic, and community groups
• Assist with managing outreach-related projects, including mobile app updates, inquiry tracking, and vendor coordination
• Support and manage a student internship program in coordination with local high schools
• Provide logistical and administrative support for outreach programs and events Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience OR
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience
• Two years of experience must be at the Public Affairs Representative I level
• Public and community outreach experience
• Experience preparing and delivering presentations to diverse audiences
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively
• Personable, flexible, and able to work well under pressure
• Valid California driver’s license
• Willingness and ability to travel locally up to 70% of the time Additional Requirements
