Food Clerk-Stocker

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet assist and lead customers to product politely
• Actively stock merchandise and correct product
• Build and fill displays as needed
• Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures
• Transportation of goods within department
• Ensuring Health and Safety Codes checking for pricing and expiration and maintaining an organizational standard area.
• To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers assisting within other departments as needed to service customers.
• Stay up to date and in congruence with Health and Safety standards as well as holding a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and various chemicals and machines within the department.
• The capability to understand merchandising labels warehouse order codes numbers reports printed paper invoices and order forms.
• Ability to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures and usage of equipment.
• To assure the safety of self customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately. Pick up / remove all broken containers packing materials / boxes from the sales floor or customers pathway immediately.
• To understand the operation safety requirements and restraints of a baler case cutter pallet jack (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack and baler).
• To move damaged / unsalable and returnable products from shelves to the backroom sorting the materials for return to the damage reclaim center.
