I m working with a facility in Maine seeking Gastroenterology locum coverage across several week-long blocks in 2026. This is a well-supported, weekday-only assignment with no nights, weekends, or call.

Schedule & Coverage

  • Monday Friday, 7am 4pm (8-hour day with 30-minute lunch)
  • No overtime unless pre-approved
  • Mix of endo cases in the OR and one clinic day per week
  • Inpatient consults during the day as needed
  • Day call only (7a 4p) for ER / Hospitalist questions or urgent procedures (e.g., food bolus EGD, GI bleeding)
  • Some days receive no calls; others will
  • Supportive scheduling with call blocks built into the day to accommodate urgent add-ons
  • No nights, weekends, or traditional call

    • Clinical Details

  • Adults only outpatient and inpatient consults
  • clinic patients per day
  • Full OR support staff
  • Onsite lab and X-ray
  • EMR : Epic
  • ERCP not required
  • Advanced / therapeutic GI preferred but not required
  • Full travel covered
  • Credentialing : 90 days

    • Anesthesia Support

  • Each endo room staffed with both an anesthesiologist and a CRNA
  • All procedures supported by anesthesia

    • Required Procedures

  • Lower GI endoscopy
  • Sigmoidoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Upper GI endoscopy, including :
  • Diagnostic EGD
  • EGD with biopsy
  • EGD with foreign body removal
  • EGD with banding of varices
  • Therapeutic procedures preferred but general GI accepted
