Director of Financial Aid
The University of Mary Washington has an exciting internal opportunity for a Director of Financial Aid. This role is responsible for the overall administration of financial aid programs while providing effective leadership and management to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional financial aid program policies and regulations. While this individual will develop policies and procedures that will govern the Office of Financial Aid, they will also develop and execute the financial aid strategy to maximize new and continuing student enrollment. This individual will advise senior leaders on new regulatory requirements, trends, and best practices, while collaborating with colleagues across campus including Finance, Advancement, Admissions, Business Services, and other offices co-located in the Student Services Center of Lee Hall to ensure a student-centered, customer service approach. In addition to maintaining strong operations in the unit, the Financial Aid Director must be able to take the lead on data analysis and strategic projections regarding budgets, enrollments, and the strategic use of financial aid.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies / Qualifications :
Required Experience :
At least five years of progressive experience in financial aid at the supervisory level at a post-secondary institution which would include :
Proven track record as it relates to keeping staff motivated and working at optimum levels, especially at peak times, and establish a customer service-focused culture, balanced with accurate processing.
