Join our dedicated Vascular Surgery team and make a difference in the lives of patients with vascular diseases and those requiring surgical interventions. We have two vibrant Vascular Surgery Units : one with 16 beds, including 6 private rooms and 5 semi-private rooms, and another with 20 beds, featuring 2 private rooms and 9 semi-private rooms. Our patient population consists of acute and chronically ill surgical patients ranging in age from 18 to over 90, primarily focusing on individuals aged 45-65. Our treatment plans cover an array of procedures including Carotid Endarterectomy, Lower Extremity Revascularization, Renal Stenting, and care for Vascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm patients.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, initiate IVs, perform treatments and procedures, and document care in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to accurately assess and identify patient conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
- Exercise sound nursing judgment in managing patient care effectively.
- Provide immediate care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer prescribed medications and over-the-counter drugs as directed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and execute individualized Plans of Care for all patients.
- Guide and mentor ancillary personnel while maintaining high professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory.1-3 years of relevant clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.Strong communication, prioritization, organization, and time-management abilities.Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques to support departmental and patient care improvements.We appreciate your interest in joining Albany Medical Center, a proud equal opportunity employer.
