Lead Medication Aide
POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Medication Technician helps create a joyful & vibrant community by caring for residents and administering and / or assisting with the self-administration of routine and non-routine and non-injectable medications by oral, rectal, or topical means in accordance with physician orders and nursing practices as directed by the Director of Nursing Services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists with covering shifts as needed.
- Ensures all Med Techs are cleaning med carts as well as med room.
- Ensures all medications are ordered by med techs on time so no residents are out of medications.
- Reports to DNS all supplies needing to be reordered by the first of the month.
- Makes and keeps Care staff schedule updated as well as finds coverage to fill PTO requests. Reports any scheduling issues and overtime to DNS.
- Runs weekly audit reports in QuickMar to ensure no medication errors.
- Ensures all med techs are utilizing the shift change report daily.
- Ensures all med techs are counting and signing the Narcotic Book per state regulations.
- Assists DNS and ADNS with communicating with Physicians / Clinicians as needed.
- Initiates TSPs if med changes and or condition changes occur. Puts a copy in the med tech book and original in ADNS book as well as updates white board in med room.
- Performs all Med Tech duties as needed.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
A high school diploma or equivalentMust hold current CNA / HCA license in good standingAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishMust hold a medication pass certification per state requirementsDemonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime to meet the requirements of the positionAbility to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other community staff.Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management.Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.Current First Aid and CPRPass a Criminal Background and fingerprint checkMeets all mandatory health requirements by state regulationsMaintains current Food Handlers cardPHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds, lifting 25 to 40 pounds constantly. The employee must reach below shoulder height frequently and kneel, stoop and squat occasionally. Stand 6 out of 8 hours. $1,700 Sign on Bonus for Full-time.
