This role involves providing essential respiratory therapy to patients based on physician orders and departmental protocols. You will work independently in diverse acute and critical care environments, consulting with physicians and offering recommendations for patient treatment. We seek those skilled in handling patients across all age groups, including infants, children, adults, and seniors.

We offer attractive sign-on bonuses for eligible full-time positions : $7,500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with one year of experience and $5,000 for those with less than one year, provided you are licensed in South Carolina. Additionally, we offer $1,800 in tax-free loan repayment per year and relocation assistance for those moving to our state.

Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or you must be a senior student slated to graduate in the next three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
You must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or eligible for licensure, or a senior student graduating in the next three months. BLS certification is required, and NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired prior to June 2016 may hold the Certified Respiratory Therapist designation. New hires from June 2016 onward must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the clinical simulation exam within the first six months of employment will result in termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certifications are required before independent work in the NICU and PICU.

Effective teamwork is crucial. Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills are necessary for success in this role.
